Professional portrait photo of Dominic Sternitzke, UX/UI designer.

Work hard, play hard,
laugh hard. In a great team.

My background in Graphic Design

In September 2023 I reached my sixth year in the Graphic Design field. By this time I had gained a solid understanding of Visual Design and UX/UI Design, but I was still eager to learn new things every day. I was particularly fascinated by the concept that we, as designers, have the ability to make technology more accessible.

Two months later, our team was informed that we would be leaving the company. This gave me time to think.

This is my story – alongside some images from my trips to France and Sweden.

This thing called UX?

I remembered that back in 2018, I was already fascinated by the user-centred approach of the UX field. That year, I completed several LinkedIn Learning courses on the fundamentals and User Research.

Six years later, in January 2024, I came across an opportunity to do a UX/UI Design bootcamp at the end of March in Berlin.

What’s next?

Over the next few months, I updated my Graphic Design portfolio and was about to send out applications to companies. But then I was struck by a thought: What if I tried something similar to Graphic Design, but with a more positive impact on people's lives?

The next chapter

My solid understanding of Visual Design, Design Systems and Interaction Design give me the confidence to fully transition into my first dedicated UX/UI Design role.

I'm currently working as a UX/UI Designer @ ImmoScout24.

Thanks for stopping by!

My time in the bootcamp

I spent three months at the SPICED Academy honing my UX/UI Design skills, with a particular focus on User Research. I quickly felt at home, as I was able to build on six years of experience working on many UX/UI Design projects during my Graphic Design career.

I graduated from the SPICED Academy at the end of June and have been diligently crafting my portfolio ever since.
